Collette DiVitto
Collette DiVitto bakes cookies.
She has done so since she was very little.
Now her cookies have won a prize and she sells them using her own business.
Collette DiVitto is 31 years old.
She lives in Boston.
Boston is the capital of Massachusetts in the USA.
Collette Divitto looked for a job for a long time.
She wrote many applications.
But only received rejections.
She recalls:
"Many people who interviewed me for jobs said I was really nice but not a good fit for them.
It was really hurtful and I felt rejected a lot."
Then Collette DiVitto had an idea.
Even when she was very little, she loved baking cookies.
She invented her own recipes.
So she thought, she wanted to make money with her cookies.
She started her own cookie business.
It's called Collettey's Cookies.
A supermarket in Boston ordered the cookies.
The Golden Goose Market ordered 100 packages of cookies a week.
That was Collette DiVitto’s first order.
Then there was a news report on Collette Divitto.
The channel CBS Boston told her story.
After that, many people from all over America ordered Collette’s cookies.
She had more than twenty five thousand orders.
Collette DiVitto recalls:
"I haven’t slept at all.
I am really amazed at the support for my company and my cookies."
You can order the cookies from all around the world.
Soon Collette DiVitto wants to invent and sell more cookies.
Her favorite cookie is chocolate cinnamon.
About her cookies she says:
"My cookies are like ridiculously yummy cookies.
I'm adding 100 percent love as an ingredient."
In the future Collette DiVitto’s business will grow even bigger.
She wants to employ other people with disabilities.
And she wants to make cookies with them.
For that she has a website to collect donations.
So she gets enough money to rent her own bakery.
You can donate for her idea, here.
